10 Jahre sind schon eine sehr lange Zeit für den Support einer "Distribution", diese wurden von Microsoft nochmals verlängert. Den Quellcode von XP zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt freizugeben würde auch nichts bringen, da realistischerweise kein Outsider in einer vernünftigen Zeitspanne einen Überblick bekommen könnte. Die einzige Alternative sind von vornherein offen angelegte Systeme. Dass die TAZ dann wieder "kostenlos" schreibt und behauptet, Office würde nicht auf GNU/Linux laufen [0], macht den Artikel für mich nicht besser.

P.S.: Ja, ich versuche auch alle von OpenOffice/LibreOffice zu überzeugen. Aber wenn es mal umgekehrt sein muss, weil das fragliche Makro eben nur mit der Microsoft-Version funktioniert, sollte man das auch im Hinterkopf haben.
