entschuldigt bitte diese eher praktische Frage hier, aber ich weiß nicht, wo ich sonst sinnvoll fragen sollte:
Ich habe mir (als Ersatz für mein kaputtes Laptop, berufliche Nutzung) ein ASUS EEE Transformer Pad TF300T zugelegt weil es nach meiner Recherche bei ASUS-Geräten prinzipiell möglich ist, freie SW zu installieren.
Auf dem Gerät ist nun Android 4.x und es ist mein erstes Gerät mit Android überhaupt.
Ich würde nun gerne a) CyanogenMod und b) Debian (nicht Ubuntu) installieren.
Beides überfordert mich aber. Zu a) Der Hinweis auf CyanogenMod stammt von [1] und verweist auf das CyanogenMod Wiki, in dem es auch eine Seite speziell zum TF300 gibt [2]. Dort wiederum wird auf ein HowTo verwiesen [3]; welches beginnt mit "Obtaining the Bootloader Unlock Application [...] 1. You will need the Android SDK on the computer to install this application." Dabei wird auf die "Get the Android SDK" [4] Site für den Download verwiesen.
Okay, aber was muss ich jetzt tun?!? Die erste Frage die sich stellt ist schonmal: Android SDK auf das Tablet oder auf meinen PC runterladen? Für ein paar Hinweise bin ich dankbar!
Zu b) Debian installieren dürfte grundsätzlich gehen, wenn Ubuntu geht (vgl. z.B. auch [5]), allerdings finde ich auch hier den richtigen Anfang nicht. So wie ich es verstanden habe, setzt allerdings auch die Debian-Installation das Unlocking voraus, so dass ich wieder bei a lande ... (NB: http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEeePC habe ich auch gefunden, das scheint mir aber nicht einschlägig für Pads.)
Ach ja: probiert habe ich auch schon, das tablet einfach per USB an meinen Debian-Rechner anzuschließen, dann rödelt das tablet um mir dann zu sagen, ich brauche auf dem Rechner ein ASUS-Sync, was es aber nur für Windows gibt :-(
Wie gesagt: ich bin für jeden Hinweis dankbar!

Ich würde vorschlagen, dass du mal beim Stammtisch "Andoid in Berlin" vorbei schaust. Die nächste ist am Mittwoch, den 30. Januar 2013 um 19:00 Uhr in der c-base. Siehe auch:

Zudem könntest du dich auf der Mailingliste bzw. Newsgroup von irgendeiner Android-UserGroup anmelden und dort deine Frage nochmals stellen.

Es gibt auch noch reichlich Linux User Groups in Berlin. Wir freuen uns immer über neue Leute und neue Hardware und zumindest mit Asus-Netbooks und Debian herrscht reichlich Erfahrung. In jeder Woche treffen sich mehrere LUGs. Wir bezeichnen uns auch explizit als *User*-Groups, erwarten also nicht zwingend tiefer gehende Fachkenntnis von Besuchern. Alle LUGs haben auch Mailinglisten, auf denen deine Frage angemessen ist.

ich denke die wichtigsten SDK Tools bekommst du wie folgt (ich benötigte fastboot für ein Xperia Mini)
Die SDK Tools benötigst du auf dem Rechner um das Handy anzusteuern.
1. Lade dir die Android SDK Tools runter von https://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html ("SDK Tools only")
2. Entpacken und die Datei ./tools/android ausführen
3. Installiere über die GUI die Platform-Tools
4. Nun hast sind die platform tools im Verzeichnis ./platform-tools/ die du vermutlich für den weiteren Prozess brauchst.
