Hallo, ich möchte Euch unser neues Hardware-Projekt vorstellen:
Nitrokey Storage ist der „digitale Haustürschlüssel“ zum Schutz Deiner Daten und Benutzerkonten als USB-Schlüssel. Er ermöglicht die sichere Verschlüsselung von Emails, Dateien und Festplatten, sicheres Login im Web und verfügt über einen verschlüsselten Massenspeicher. Die Verschlüsselungsschlüssel werden dabei immer in der Hardware geschützt!
Der Nitrokey ist komplett „Made in Germany“ ist als freie Software (GPLv3+) und offene Hardware (Creative Commons) veröffentlicht.
Der Nitrokey Storage ermöglicht: * Verschlüsselung von E-Mails, Festplatten und sonstigen Daten mittels OpenPGP Chipkarte (wie bei Fellowship Smartcard). Geheime Schlüssel werden durch die Hardware geschützt. * Sicheres Login im Web mittels Einmalpasswörtern zum Schutz vor Identitätsdiebstahl. * Sicherer Transport und Austausch sensibler Dateien mittels verschlüsselten Massenspeichers (bis zu 64 GB). * Die erste Hardware weltweit mit verstecktem Speicher um die Existenz verschlüsselter Daten glaubhaft abstreiten zu können (z. B. bei Grenzkontrollen). * 100% offen (freie Software, offene Hardware)

Ich habe den Nitrokey Pro und muss sagen, dass er mich etwas überfordert. Es ist nicht offensichtlich, was man damit tatsächlich alles machen kann. Bisher habe ich ihn nur dazu bewegen können als Passwortspeicher (wie KeePassX) zu agieren.
Weder die Integration mit GPG noch S/MIME habe ich anhand der Anleitungen hinbekommen.
Die Dokumentation ist nicht besonders hilfreich und zum Teil veraltet oder unvollständig.
Bei dem Nitrokey Storage mag das anders sein, da es dort auch noch einen verschlüsselten Speicher dazu gibt.

Perfekt ist unsere Doku noch nicht aber wir arbeiten kontinuierlich an dessen Verbesserung. Hierbei sind wir auch auf konkretes Feedback der Community angewiesen. Was genau ist denn veraltet bzw. unvollständig?
Bei dem Nitrokey Storage mag das anders sein, da es dort auch noch einen verschlüsselten Speicher dazu gibt.
Zum Konfigurieren, Freischalten, Sperren etc. bieten wir unsere eigene kleine Software an, so dass hier keine Probleme wie z.B. mit dem GPG Agent auftreten sollten.

1. Ist das Gehäuse aus einem Stück (wie beispielsweise beim YubiKey), so dass die enthaltenen Chips nicht unzerstört ausgebaut werden können?
2. Welche Schlüssellänge wird als OpenPGP-Smart-Card unterstützt?
3. Ist es möglich Verschlüsselung per NFC oder anderweitig auf mobilen Geräten durchzuführen ohne den Schlüssel auf diese Geräte zu übertragen?

Das Gehäuse besteht aus zwei Hälften die verklebt sind. Wenn man den Nitrokey öffnet geht wahrscheinlich das Gehäuse kaputt, die Elektronik sollte jedoch heile bleiben.

RSA 1024, 2048, 3072, 4096 Bit
- Ist es möglich Verschlüsselung per NFC oder anderweitig auf mobilen
Geräten durchzuführen ohne den Schlüssel auf diese Geräte zu übertragen?
Nein. Wir haben auch noch keine konkreten Pläne wie wir das lösen. NFC ist eine Option.

Das Gehäuse besteht aus zwei Hälften die verklebt sind. Wenn man den Nitrokey öffnet geht wahrscheinlich das Gehäuse kaputt, die Elektronik sollte jedoch heile bleiben.
Ich wuerde im Gegenteil begruessen wenn die Elektronik zerstoert wuerde sobald das Gehaeuse geoeffnet wird, insbesondere alles was secret key oder Daten haelt..

Das ist schwer zu erreichen; benötigt eine Batterie, ein stabiles Gehäuse mit Sensoren und wohlmöglich auch Semtex o.ä.
