Hmm, mich hat der Jargon und die Verknüpfungen zu VERDI und PDS doch ziemlich an meine alten VDS-Zeiten als AStA Mensch erinnert. Klingt für mich stark nach GO-Block von damals. Lass mich aber gerne vom Gegenteil überzeugen. Wie steht die FSFe zu Oekonux und umgekehrt? Tschüss, Thomas

Also es gibt da natürlich von beiden Seiten keine "offiziellen" Statements (wozu auch?), aber es gibt wohl schon einige bei der FSFe, die uns für linke Spinner halten - zumindestens war das mein Eindruck davon, was ich so mitgekriegt habe bisher.
Umgekehrt ist es so, dass die meisten bei Oekonux es nicht so prickelnd finden, wie die FSFe die Vermarktbarkeit von Freier Software in den Vordergrund stellt, weil wir andere Sachen daran viel spannender und auch für die Freie-Software wichtiger finden. Aber ich bin froh, dass es beides gibt und nur manchmal etwas enttäuscht darüber, dass es nicht mehr Kommunikation gibt.

Puh, keine Ahnung, da ich so einer nicht bin. Ich hatte aber auch mit solchen Leuten schon durchaus fruchtbare Diskussionen.
Ich finde das auch ein ziemliches Schubladendenken. Da sieht jemand das irgendwo Marx erwähnt wird und schon gehen alle Scheuklappen hoch. Ich bin gerne bereit mich mit jedem inhaltlich auseinanderzusetzen, aber nicht mit "Argumenten" ala, das ist Marxismus also muss es Scheisse sein. Zugegeben, versuchen viele bei uns sich aus dem Marxismus die Rosinen rauszupicken aber die meisten sind sich durchaus den Nägeln bewusst, die in diesem Kuchen auch drin sind.

btw: Das was Du da oben mit "Mensch der Mitte" alles mit einkaufst, ist auch "verstaubt", weil es nämlich genauso auf jahrhundertealtem Denken basiert, nur eben einem anderen. Nur sind die meisten "Menschen der Mitte" sich dessen nicht mehr bewusst.
Den Vorwurf, wir würden Freie Software nur instrumentalisieren finde ich im übrigen ziemlich daneben. Uns interessiert das Thema nunmal (u.a. deswegen weil wir es selbst benutzen und teilweise auch selber FS schreiben). Den da mitschwingenden Vorwurf, wir würden ein an sich unideologsiches, technisches Thema ideologisieren gebe ich mal grad zurück, denn Du machst ja wohl nix anderes, wenn Du erwartest, dass sich Leute mit anderer Gesinnung als Deiner nicht mehr mit dem Thema auseinandersetzen dürfen.

Wenn dann aber schon politisch stark vorgefärbte Leute mitmischen, dann gibt es eine "GPL-Gesellschaft": Ich halte die Ökonux-Zukunftsvorstellungen für gefährliche Strukturexpolationen.
Um konstruktiv zu sprechen: Ich würde mich wesentlich besser fühlen, wenn ihr heuristische Techniken (von Dörner, de Bono, ...) anwenden würdet. V.a. de Bono kriegt es auf die Reihe, Techniken zur Vermeidung von Denkfehlern in gut aufgemachter Art und Weise zu vermitteln (siehe de Bono, "Thinking Course").

Du missverstehst meine Aussage. Ich meine, dass ein Projekt mit einer Art wissenschaftlichen Zielsetzung nicht von politischen Hintergrundgedanken beeinflusst werden sollte. Die Trennung von Wissenschaft und Staat und von Ideen und Interessen sind die Grundfeste der Wissenschaft gewesen. Jedes mal, wenn sie missachtet wurden, ob im Großen (NS-Zeit, kirchliche Repression neuer Erkenntnisse ...) oder im Kleinen, ist etwas furchtbar dummes herausgekommen.

Stimmt schon. Verstaubtes Denken ist zwar keine rein europäische Stärke, aber wir haben als einzige Kultur geschafft, es zum Teil unseres Denkens zu machen. Die islamische Welt ist inzwischen wandlungsfähiger als die europäische... *hüstel* Ich habe nix gegen neue Ideen. Aber wenn sie schon von vornherein politisch belegt sind bzw. wenn die Ergebnisse von den führenden Kräften im Projekt für deren Zwecke reinterpretiert werden, finde ich das echt schade.

Sie haben einfach das falsche gelernt, z.B. konstruktives, kreatives und aktives Denken. Kritisches Denken ist keine Qualität, sondern eine schlechte Eigenschaft, weil man lieber eine neue Idee zerreißt als selber eine zu entwickeln. Das spart Gedankenkraft, die wir lieber für unendliche Diskussionen verwenden. Deswegen oben mein Literaturvorschlag.

Nein, das Thema Freie Software ist nicht technisch, es ist durchaus politisch. Bis auf Turbokapitalisten [1] findet *jeder* mit einer politischen Richtung seine Vorteile dort: Der Mitte-Demokrat, der Liberale, der Sozialist, der Christlich-Bürgerliche [2] ...
Du darfst Dich gerne mit dem Thema auseinandersetzen, aber ohne Brille. Das ist das mindesteste was man erwarten kann, wenn jemand von "auseinandersetzen" spricht. Es gibt eine objektive Wahrheit, aber ob manche der Ökonux-Leute die wirklich finden möchten, wenn sie unbewusst ihre eigenen ideologischen Gedanken damit stützen möchten, das müsste ich erst detaillierter untersuchen. Auch wenn diese Mail sehr lange: Ich tue lieber was, als drüber zu reden. Ist wie mit Frauen [3] *g* :-)

Verstehe ich Dich richtig, dass Du in etwa folgende Gedankenfolge in der Oekonux-Diskussion beobachtest zu haben glaubst: Die Marxistische Theorie sei die unhinterfragte Ausgangsbasis der Diskussion, durch die präformiert alles andere, z.B. das Phänomen der Freien Software betrachtet würde? Die Teilnehmer an der Diskussion hätten, bevor sie sich mit Freier Software beschäftigten, schon ein gefestigt marxistisches Weltbild gehabt, in das nun alles und jedes eingefügt werden muss?
Falls Du diese Befürchtung hast kann ich Dich wohl beruhigen. Ich habe bisher nicht feststellen können, dass in der Oekonux-Diskussion gewissermaßen immer schon "vorher", durch Rückgriff auf eine wie auch immer geartete Theorie, gewusst wurde, wie das Ergebnis nach der Diskussion aussehen würde. Es ist auf keinen Fall so, dass Freie Software nur ein beliebiges Thema unter vielen wäre, an dem sich alte Marxisten nun abarbeiten würden, die aber mit Freuden auch jedes andere Theme als Projektionsfläche akzeptieren würde. Allein die in vielen Punkten kontroverse und auch nicht immer zu einem Ergebnis oder zumindest zu einer gemeinsamen Sicht des diskutierten Themas führende Diskussion ist, so glaube ich, Beweis genug, dass es bei Oekonux nicht darum geht, Freie Software "als Zugpferd [...] zu vergewaltigen" (igitt!).
Das würde ich mir wünschen. Als ich von Ökonux zum ersten Mal hörte, hatte ich die Hoffnung, dass sich jemand über wirtschaftliche und soziale Konsequenzen Freier Software Gedanken macht.
Und genau das passiert auch. Zu klären wäre allerdings, wie weit Du hier die Begriffe "wirtschaftlich" und "sozial" fassen möchtest. Wenn diese ihre Grenzen an der bestehenden Wirtschafts- und Gesellschaftsordnung fänden, müsste Dir in der Tat die Oekonux-Diskussion als das Thema verfehlend vorkommen.
Es existieren ja glücklicherweise Organisationen wie z.B. die FSFE, die sich der sicher nicht immer lustige Aufgabe angenommen haben, Lobby-Arbeit und ähnliche, innerhalb des bestehenden Systems richtige und notwendige Tätigkeiten zu machen. Deren "unideologische" und pragmatische Herangehensweise deswegen aber als die zulässige zu betrachten, hielte ich für wenig hilfreich.

Diesem Argument kann ich leider nicht ganz folgen. Was genau meinst Du mit: "dann gibt es eine 'GPL-Gesellschaft'"? Dieser, übrigens stark umstrittene Begriff, dient lediglich als zunächst begrifflich nicht ausgefüllter Kristallistationskern, um den herum sich die Diskussion bilden kann (oder auch nicht).

Hier bin ich doch etwas erstaunt, wie Du auf die "wissenschaftliche Zielsetzung" von Oekonux kommst. Habe ich da etwas überlesen?
Übrigens ist es natürlich, wie Benni auch schon bemerkt hat, Ideologie, den eigenen Standpunkt oder die eigene Methode als von historisch-politischen Vorbedingungen unabhängig darzustellen.

"Gewesen" ist gut :-) Abgesehen davon, dass ich die Parallelisierung der Paare Wissenschaft und Staat sowie Ideen und Interessen für nicht sehr glücklich halte, ist dieser ideale Zustand wohl nur schierig zu erreichen. Eine völlig interessenlose Wissenschaft, die auch nicht die eigenen Vorbedingungen, sowohl fachlich als auch historisch, politisch und gesellschaftlich, reflektiert, ist doch eher eine Schreckensvorstellung. Die aktuell durch die öffentliche Diskussion geisternden Biowissenschaftler sollen ja wohl so etwas wie das Idealbild eines solchen interessenlosen, nur vom Ziel des Erkenntnisgewinn geleiteten Wissenschaftlers abgeben. Naja ...

Richtig. Daraus aber zu folgern, dass das rein wissenschaftliche, funktionale und interesselose Denken von der Hervorbringung von "furchtbar Dummem" gefeit wäre, halte ich für falsch.

Ich kann Dir versichern, dass so etwas weder beabsichtigt noch der Fall ist. Übrigens ist auch die Rede von "führenden Kräften" für mich etwas irrietierend. Zumindest meine Vorstellung von einer freien und offenen Diskussion, und als solche verstehe ich Oekonx, wäre es, dass eben keine "führenden" oder sonstwie wichtigeren Menschen und Postionen etabliert werden können.

Das klingt interessant: Warum sind diese drei Arten des Denkens "das falsche"? Abgesehen davon, dass es neben diesen sicher noch andere Arten des Denkens gibt, die zu berücksichtigen wären, interessiert mich, was denn dann "das richtige" wäre.

Ich kann nicht sagen, *ob* es wirklich so ist. Allerdings scheint mir die Rhetorik auf der Webseite stark alte linke Begriffe (z.B. das Wortfeld um Produktion herum) zu nutzen. Ich weiß nicht - habt ihr schon brauchbarere Begriffe entwickelt, die den Unterschied zwischen Gütern und Informationen deutlich werden lassen? Der FFII hat m.E. mit dem Begriff der "Logikalie" einen guten Zug gemacht.
Ich würde mir wünschen, dass ihr euch nicht von alten Begriffen leiten lasst, die unangemessen sind. Die Sapir-Whorf-Hypothese schlägt dann nämlich eiskalt zu und sperrt euch gedanklich ein.
Falls Du diese Befürchtung hast kann ich Dich wohl beruhigen.

Wenn diese ihre Grenzen an der bestehenden Wirtschafts- und Gesellschaftsordnung fänden, müsste Dir in der Tat die Oekonux-Diskussion als das Thema verfehlend vorkommen.

Genau diese Ansicht teile ich nicht. Allein durch die Tatsache, dass die FSFE und Assoziierte Arbeit für Freie Software machen, *verändert* bereits das System. Ein Gesellschaftsentwurf kann beliebig lang diskutiert werden, ohne umgesetzt zu werden oder überhaupt praktikabel zu sein.
"Erst formen wir unsere Werkzeuge und daraufhin formen sie uns." Allein durch die Tatsache, dass es Freie Software gibt, wird die Gesellschaft verändert. Die gedankliche Veränderung bei den Menschen tritt nicht durch Theorien, sondern durch Tatsachen ein. Ist Marshal McLuhan ("Understanding Media") auch schon auf der Literaturliste? Der hat genau in diese Richtung gezeigt, und zwar sehr überzeugend.
Wo ist die Literaturliste im Web? Ich würde wetten, da ist noch viel Interessantes drauf.
Das ist eine Beobachtung, die natürlich innerhalb der Oekonux-Diskussion auch schon mehrfach aufgetaucht ist. Wie wäre es, wenn Du Dich einfach auf liste@oekonux.de anmelden würdest? ;-)

Verstehe ich Dich richtig, dass es Dir stark um eine Art Methoden-Kritik geht und dass Du bei Oekonux die "falsche" verwendet siehst?
Die Dialektik ist zweitausend und nochwas Jahre alt und dringend reparaturbedürftig. Ich finde es absurd, dass reine Logik ohne Berücksichtigung von zwingenden Umständen (physikalische Gesetze, psychologische Gesetzmäßigkeiten, soziologische Phänomene ...) zu irgend etwas führen soll. Ich kann keine Realitätsmodelle bilden, indem ich den Realitätsbezug aussen vor lasse.
Vielleicht bin ich auch zu stark von den Büchern geprägt, die ich gelesen habe :-) Meine ganz private Brille *g*

Ist Oekonux also politisch, wissenschaftlich oder einfach nur eine Bauchladen-Mailingliste? Bitte Definition. Meine Auffassung war, dass es sich um etwas quasi-wissenschaftliches handelt.
Die Trennung von Wissenschaft und Staat und von Ideen und Interessen sind die Grundfeste der Wissenschaft gewesen.

Eine völlig interessenlose Wissenschaft, die auch nicht die eigenen Vorbedingungen, sowohl fachlich als auch historisch, politisch und gesellschaftlich, reflektiert, ist doch eher eine Schreckensvorstellung. Die aktuell durch die öffentliche Diskussion geisternden Biowissenschaftler sollen ja wohl so etwas wie das Idealbild eines solchen interessenlosen, nur vom Ziel des Erkenntnisgewinn geleiteten Wissenschaftlers abgeben. Stimmt schon, es gibt ethische Grenzen, die folglich auch kulturell abhängig sind. Die Naturwissenschaften sind aber Gott sei Dank nur bei ein paar prekären Grenzfällen nicht von ethischen Fragen entbunden. Die Geisteswissenschaften (im universitären Zusammenhang) haben m.e. *immer* die Aufgabe, das aktuelle System zu begründen und zu stützen. Beispiel: BWL.
Ich kann Dir versichern, dass so etwas weder beabsichtigt noch der Fall ist. Übrigens ist auch die Rede von "führenden Kräften" für mich etwas irrietierend. Zumindest meine Vorstellung von einer freien und offenen Diskussion, und als solche verstehe ich Oekonx, wäre es, dass eben keine "führenden" oder sonstwie wichtigeren Menschen und Postionen etabliert werden können.
Ich rede von den Leuten, die Vorträge über Ökonux halten.

Kritisches Denken ist keine Qualität, sondern eine schlechte Eigenschaft, weil man lieber eine neue Idee zerreißt als selber eine zu entwickeln.
Das nenne ich einmal eine steile These :-) Gegethese: ohne Kritik der vorhandenen Ideen und der Auseinandersetzung mit diesen und ihrere Bewertung ist es unmöglich, eigene zu entwicklen.
Ja, aber das gegenwärtige Diskussionssystem (allgemein gesellschaftlich, siehe Politik, Wirtschaft, ...) sieht so aus: 1. Lass den anderen ausreden 2. Nehme die 10% seiner Ideen, die schlecht/falsch sind 3. "Beweise" anhand dieser 10% Prozent, dass der andere ein Idiot ist 4. Sage nun allen, dass die anderen 90% Schwachsinn sein müssen, *weil* der andere ein Idiot ist (was ja in 3. bewiesen wurde)
Welchen Erkenntnisgewinn bringt das? Wie wäre es, die 10%, die Probleme bereiten, einfach aufzuzeigen und prinzipiell konstruktive Verbesserungsvorschläge zu machen?
Lasst euch nicht damit in die "Falle der unendlichen Diskussion" jagen.
Diese Ansicht teile ich nicht. Es gibt keine objektive, brillenlos gewonnene Wahrheit. Wer das behauptet, trägt eine tiefrosa gefärbte Brille.
Das heißt, ich trage eine Brille, die mir sagt, dass es eine Möglichkeit gibt, keine Brille tragen zu können :-) Ich steig aus, mir wird's jetzt zu rekursiv [1], obwohl das Thema interessant ist und ich noch tagelang drüber diskutieren könnte :-)

Umgekehrt ist es so, dass die meisten bei Oekonux es nicht so prickelnd finden, wie die FSFe die Vermarktbarkeit von Freier Software in den Vordergrund stellt, weil wir andere Sachen daran viel spannender und auch für die Freie-Software wichtiger finden. Aber ich bin froh, dass es beides gibt und nur manchmal etwas enttäuscht darüber, dass es nicht mehr Kommunikation gibt.
Tja, wenn man die Politik an Stelle des Glaubensbekenntnisses setzt kommt man schnell dazu ein neues Opium fürs Volk zu propagieren. War zu mindest damals so *grins*
Allerdings glaube ich das ein Campaigner Netzwerk, früher nannten bestimmte Kreise das glaube ich "Kaderarbeit", mitlerweile von Nöten ist. Sonst könnte es passieren das die Ideen der FSF ruck zuck von jemandem für die eigenen Ziele instrumentalisiert wird. Oder es kommt so weit das keiner mehr die Wüste vor lauter Rufern sehen kann, die auch noch alle durcheinander krakelen.

Grundsätzlich finde ich politisches Engagement gut.
Ich glaube, dass "Links gegen Rechts" oder "Kapitalistisch gegen Kommunistisch" Debatten nur sehr wenig Fortschritt bringen.

Die FSFE stellt die Werte des Miteinanderteilens von Wissen und Kulturtechnik in den Vordergrund.
Wir treten jedoch dem verbreitetem Vorurteil entgegen, das sei "kommunistisch" oder grundsätzlich wirtschaftsfeindlich. Die FSFE will auch den Vertretern der Wirtschaft erklären, um was es bei Freier Software geht und warum es für die Gesellschaft und damit auch für sie Vorteile bringt.
Aber ich bin froh, dass es beides gibt und nur manchmal etwas enttäuscht darüber, dass es nicht mehr Kommunikation gibt.
Jemand kann der FSFE helfen und als zweites politisch in verschiedenen Richtungen bezüglich Gesellschaftsformen mitdebattieren. Insofern kommt dann eine Kommunikation über die Personen zu stande.
