Hallo de-Liste, ich versuche mal zusammenfassend ein paar Fragen zur Wiki Migration zu klären. Angesichts des Umfangs der Arbeiten, empfinde ich das gesamtheitliche Feedback bisher als positiv und produktiv.
Vor etwa einer Woche ergab sich auf der englisschprachigen FSFE-Discussion-List ein Thread zum allgemeinen aufräumen des Wikis. Das fiel durch Zufall zeitlich zusammen mit meiner Arbeit als Webmaster am Update der Wiki-Softare, dem Umstellen des User-Accountings und der konzeptionierung von Best-Practices bei der Organisation des Wikis in hinblick auf eine zukünftig verstärkte Bedeutung in der Kommunikation der FSFE.
Treibendes Motiv ist, das Wiki günstiger zum "Browsen" zu gestalten. Das Wiki umfasst etwa 1700 Seiten, die Meisten dieser Texte sind bisher tote Information, weil sie nicht erreichbar sind, außer man weiß entweder wo sie liegen, oder man weiß schon was drinsteht und kann danach suchen.
Neben den Kategorien, die sich gut eignen um Querverweise zwischen Seiten herzustellen, die sonst keinen engen Zusammenhang haben müssen, soll eine sinnvole Hierarchie eingeführt innerhalb derer auch durchverlinkt wird (z.B. so wie im Augenblick die LocalGroup/-Seite aussieht)
Das heißt z.B. dass Seiten nicht mehr einfach im Top-Level der Hierarchie angelegt werden sollen.
Der Migrationsplan ist fluide und hängt ab von den Anforderungen die dabei rein kommen. Z.B. werden wir wahrscheinlich doch mehr Weiterleitungen von ursprünglichen URLs einrichten als zuerst geplant. Fest steht in jedem Fall, dass Seiten im Migrated/-Ordner nur zwischengeparkt sind. In zwei Wochen soll der Orner leer sein, die Seiten werden dann nach und nach woanders einsortiert. Für den überwiegenden Teil aller Seiten gilt das schon (diese sind z.B. in Events/ und in LocalGroup/).
Es fehlen noch ein paar plugins (z.B. der Termin-Aggregator) und ein paar Textformatierungen glitchen wahrscheinlich nocht. Die Migration erfolgt im laufenden Betrieb. Abschalten können wir das Wiki ja schlecht.
Angekündigt war das nur auf der Startseite des Wikis und auf der internationalen Discussion-Liste. Es gibt eine spontan eingerichtete Mailingliste für die Migration, wer reinlauschen oder mitreden will tritt einfach der QuickML-Liste[*] WikiCareTakers@q.fsfe.org bei.

Ich selbst halte in jedem Fall die Ohren spitz, zu allem was hier (auch in den anderen Threads) gesagt wird. Auf der Startseite des Wikis werden sonst sicher noch ein paar Vermerke auftauchen.

Hierzu noch eine kleine Anmerkung. Die Migration und die Caretakers sind eigentlich zwei verschiedene Aktionen, die sich jetzt zufällig zeitlich überschneiden. Die Migration selbst ist hoffentlich bald abgeschlossen, aber die eigentliche Arbeit für die Caretakers fängt dann erst so richtig an. Dann geht es darum, alles nochmal durchzusehen und zu sortieren und auszumisten. Da jetzt die Migration zum gleichen Zeitpunkt passiert, versuchen wir, bei der Migration schon ein paar der Aufräumarbeiten zu erledigen.
