Ich würde gerne das Projekt vorschlagen GNU Hurd auf Minix zu portieren. Das scheint mir doch einfach eine sinnvolle Idee zu sein, die sich irgendwie aufdrängt, könnte man sagen.
Eigentlich fände ich GNU Hurd auf QNX viel sinnvoller, nicht zuletzt weil man QNX lizenzieren muss, wenn ich das hier mal ganz kontrovers in die Runde werfen darf.

Das gehört eigentlich nicht zu meinen Hobbies, nein. Ich finde QNX eigentlich ein sehr überzeugende Basis für GNU Hurd. Es wurde auch mal als die Basis für AmigaOS 4.x diskutiert nachdem Gaterway damals ESCOM gekauft hatte und damit auch die Rechte am Amiga OS.
Amüsanterweise könnte man AmigaOS als Personality auch auf GNU Hurd wieder implementieren. Ich hatte das auch mal überlegt als Apple anfing am Mach kernel zu arbeiten. Das wird vermutlich heute kaum jemanden noch interessieren, aber es gibt ja immer ein paar Interessenten für "retro computing".

Alternativ könnte man auch Android auf GNU-Hurd-auf-QNX portieren. Android und QNX passen sowieso recht gut zusammen, es ist erstaunlich, dass es da noch keine Entwicklung gibt.

Warum ist Linux kein Microkernel? Als ich zuletzt Linux kompiliert habe konnte man per Konfigurationsoption so ziemlich alles weglassen. Torvalds weiss schon, dass Microkernel besser sind, er wollte es nur nicht allen verraten ;-)

Thomas hat Dir konkrete Hinweise gegeben, wo man mithelfen kann. Ich verstehe nicht, warum Du überhaupt nicht darauf eingehst. Das ist für mich keine produktive Diskussion. Ich bitte Dich darum, Deine Gedanken etwas klarer zu sammeln, bevor Du sie an die Liste schickst und auf die Antworten der anderen einzugehen.
