Ja, aber leider ist jedes System starker Mehraufwand für Entwickler von Apps da jedes System eine andere Sprache und Framework verwendet, da wäre QT bei MeeGo und Symbian mal eine gute Sache gewesen.
Viele Anbieter scheinen die Telefone trotzdem zuzunageln und die Android Entwicklungs-Gemeinschaft ist geschlossener als MeeGo und stark von
bestimmt.
Wobei sich Intel und Nokia bei Meego leider auch häufig durch komplett geschlossene Entwicklung ausgezeichnet haben. Auf der Community Mailinglist gab es vor kurzem wieder recht scharfe Kritik gegen Intel, in diesem Fall konkret gegen die geschlossene Tablet UX Entwicklung. Nachdem sie gerade erst die erste Version zum Ausprobieren veröffentlicht haben und auf einen UI-Verbesserungsvorschlag geantwortet wurde, dass im aktuellen Entwicklungsstand solche Änderungen wohl nicht mehr berücksichtigt werden können.
Aber im Grunde ist MeeGo wohl das beste aktuell entwickelte System in dem Bereich, "Standard"tools (gnu, pulseaudio, dbus, qt, etc) und die Möglichkeit auch Skriptsprachen wie zB Python einzusetzen und nicht auf ein bis zwei Sprachen gezwungen zu werden.
