Hm... in dieser Diskussion fehlt mir eine wichtige Komponente.
Das eigentliche "Problem" freier Software ist, dass sie nicht als Kapital nutzbar ist. Deshalb ist sie für die großen Softwarekonzerne uninteressant. Die großen Softwarekonzerne sind aber unbestrittenermaßen die mächtigsten Organisationen, die es momentan gibt. Es ist nur logisch, dass die auch die besten Resultate liefern. Zumindest da, wo es ihnen wichtig ist. Zum Beispiel beim Entwickeln einer narrensicheren Benutzeroberfläche, die "einfach funktioniert".
Wenn wir immer nur wiederholen, dass freie Software besser ist, dann glaubt uns das keiner. Jeder Doof sieht doch (und bezeugt das stolz), dass er mit Ubuntu *nicht* alleine klar kommt, aber wohl mit Macintosh oder Windows. Wir müssen lernen zuzugeben, dass freie Software in Sachen Narrensicherheit nicht konkurrieren *kann*, dass Freie Software in der Tat "nicht so bequem" ist. Nur dann können wir Vertrauen erwarten, nur dann können wir unseren Zuhörern erklären, weshalb es wichtig ist, den etwas unbequemeren Weg zu gehen, und dass der Verlust an Bequemlichkeit viel geringer ist als es auf den ersten Blick scheint.
