das sehe ich anders. Wer als Autor einen qualitativ hochwertigen Text fürs Internet schreibt, sollte sich nicht dafür rechtfertigen müssen, dass er ihn nicht unter einer freien Lizenz anbietet. Dafür kann es viele Gründe geben - angefangen vom Wunsch, den Text noch erfolgreich verkaufen zu wollen, bis hin zur Angst vor Entstellung. Außerdem hat er Zeit und Mühe investiert und folgt ja vielleicht noch anderen Interessen als dem sehr altruistischen Ziel eines Zuflusses zur "geistigen Allmende" - kann man ihn dafür verurteilen?
Ich kann dieser Geisteshaltung einfach nichts abgewinnen. Da investiert jemand viel Freizeit in etwas, und sorgt dann durch die Lizenz dafür, dass andere so wenig wie möglich damit anfangen können. Ich meine, was soll das? Wenn man seine Freizeit in etwas steckt, und dabei vielleicht sogar auf Vorhandenem aufbaut, dann sollte man doch ein großes Interesse daran haben, dass andere möglichst viel damit anfangen können.
Vielleicht ist das jetzt etwas plakativ: Wenn ich mich hinsetze und eine Erzählung von Kafka lese oder Radiohead höre, dann kann ich viel damit anfangen, dann habe ich etwas davon - Genuss, Faszination, vielleicht Erkenntnis. Und das alles, obwohl ich das Stück nicht remixe und die Erzählung nicht umschreiben kann: Ich darf es nicht und ich will es auch nicht. Vielleicht wollen das andere, dessen bin ich mir schon bewusst. Aber darum geht es mir hier nicht, sondern darum, dass "Nutzen" sich nicht darin erschöpft, Derivate eines Werks zu erstellen. Ich würde sogar davon ausgehen, dass dies die seltenere "Nutzungsform" selbst von freier Musik ist.
Was die Freiheit angeht: Man wird den vier Freiheiten nicht gerecht, wenn man sie 1:1 auf andere Inhalte als Software überträgt und entsprechende Forderungen stellt. Bei Software (und Hardware) geht es um die materiellen Grundbedingungen unserer Kommunikation sowie vieler kultureller und sozialer Praktiken, die durch proprietäre Software in diffuse Abhängigkeit von diffusen Kräften geraten. Bei Inhalten geht es - den Zugang mal vorausgesetzt - schlimmstenfalls um Einschränkungen unserer Kreativität oder (wie im Fall des Stempels) um etwas Mühe für jemanden, der zusätzliche Arbeit hat, weil er einen Text neu formulieren muss. Das ist zwar lästig und schränkt ihn in seiner Handlungsfreiheit ein, es kann ihn jedoch nicht desubjektivieren. Bei proprietärer Software ist das anders: Sie hat das Potenzial, uns zu einem Spielball zu machen, von dem wir nicht mal wissen, wer ihn spielt.
Kurz: Für mich geht es hier um Freie Software, nicht aber um Freie Inhalte um jeden Preis.
