Wobei das schon ein bisschen krude ist: Man beschafft eine Server-Software, die explizit zum Geschäftsprinzip hat, dass es nur mit Microsoft-Clients arbeiten soll (weil Office nunmal die Cash-Cow von Microsoft ist, ist diese Zielsetzung offensichtlich) und dann kommt hinterher die Feststellung, dass in dieser Umgebung alternative Freie Software nicht so gut sei weil es mit der Serverkomponente nicht sauber zusammen arbeitet. Wie man diesen Missstand nun der freien Software anlasten kann werde ich wohl nie verstehen.
Für E-Mail gibt es IMAP. Das kann der Exchange-Admin aktivieren oder nicht. Ist es aus, gibt es nach meinen Recherchen keine freie Software die mit dem (aktuellen) Exchange reden kann. Beim Exchange-Kalender hoffe ich noch, dass die hiesige Schulverwaltung diesen niemals obligatorisch macht, denn da wird es nicht viel besser aussehen.
