Sain vinkkiä että Linkedinissä käydään kovaa keskustelua julkishallinnon Linux-asioista. Microsoftin Pasi Mäkinen otti myös osaa, ja linkitti sinne Suomen Microsoftin uusimman FUD-kokoelman. Ilmeisesti keskustelu on saanut näkyvyyttä.

Keskusteluun kaipaisin mukaan enemmän open source-ihmisiä. Tuolloin saataisiin mahdollisimman laaja näkemys siitä:
a) millaisia etuja toisi koko julkishallinnon siirtyminen avoimen lähdekoodin hyödyntäjäksi
b) mitä tuollainen kokonaisen valtion siirtyminen avoimeen lähdekoodiin merkitsisi yrityksille.
Itsestäni sen verran, että olen työskennellyt ICT-alalla yli 17 vuotta. IT-konsultointiyrityksissä työskentelyn jälkeen siirryin valtion palvelukseen v. 2008. Tällä hetkellä työskentelen järjestelmäsuunnittelijana Tikessä, maa- ja metsätalousministeriön ICT-virastossa. Tike on edelläkävijä valtionhallinnossa avoimen koodin ratkaisujen hyödyntäjänä. Meillä on erittäin vahva Java- ja Oracle-osaaminen. Menetelmäpuolella olimme ensimmäisiä julkisia organisaatioita, joka alkoi hyödyntää Agile-menetelmiä. Scrumia on käytetty sovelluskehityksessämme vuodesta 2006 alkaen.
Itselläni on työnkuva Tikessä muuttunut useaan kertaan. Sovelluskehittäjän roolista siirryin testaajaksi laadunvarmistusryhmään. Tällä hetkellä päätehtäviä ovat ohjelmistotestauksen ja katselmointien koordinointi sekä testausmenetelmien kehittäminen.
