Hello,
Here are some news snippets from Finland:
*Finhack* 33 persons attended Finhack 26.9.2010. I think the event was successful. Images and list of attendees: http://otto.kekalainen.net/finhack/kuvat/ We presented FSFE and had FSFE leaflets and join forms on a table http://otto.kekalainen.net/finhack/kuvat/20100926_004.jpg), but didn't get any new fellows though. I don't know if we got more people on our mailing list, since we don't have subscriber stats. More images: http://www.qaiku.com/channels/show/seminaarikannu/view/54edd71ac94411df8a78f...

*Dissertation about OOo migration* Ministry of Justice project manager Martti Karjalainen made a thesis about his experience when he lead the ministry's migration to OpenOffice. There was a lot of related new: - OOo saves tax payer money and helps archival with open format: http://www.uusisuomi.fi/kotimaa/103948-openoffice-toi-ministeriolle-jattisaa... - Microsoft tried to pressure the head of the ministry to stop the migration with a 20 page long expert paper on how bad OOo is: http://www.tietokone.fi/uutiset/microsoft_painosti_ministeriota_openoffice_h...
*COSS events* COSS had a high profile event Open Solutions 2010 a few weeks ago and the OpenMind event is upcoming. http://opensolutions.coss.fi/default_en.htm http://www.openmind.fi/ (Finnish only)
*Meego Networks* Several Meego networks have started grass-roots meetings in Finland, this seems to gain momentum since the mobile is sexier than plain Linux desktop/server.
(sorry for spelling errors, I'm in a hurry)
