Terve Antti ja Ville,
Juttelin Antin kanssa tammikuussa ja Villen kanssa tiistaina. Tilan ja nyt myös ajan puutteen takia luovuimme tavoitteesta järjestää DFD-tapahtuma Suomessa maaliskuun lopussa.
Sen sijaan on käyty keskusteluja Helsingin tietohallintojohtaja Markku Raition kanssa siitä, että kaupunki, FSFE ja muut alan järjestöt voisivat yhdessä järjestää pari kertaa vuodessa tilaisuuden työnimellä "avoin kohtaaminen", missä virkamiehet, devaajat ja muut alan aktiivit voisivat keskustella ja käydä läpi konkreettisia asioita teknisen avoimuuden edistämiseksi, kuten esimerkiksi arvioida eri standardien soveltuvuutta eri tietojen julkaisuun, vaihtaa vinkkejä mitä kaikkia avoimia työkaluja löytyy erinäisiin tarkoituksiin jne.
Paikka olisi jossain Helsingin keskustassa, ja tapaamisten kesto 3-4h, esim klo 14-18 iltapäivällä. Raitiolla on maaliskuun alkupuolella palaveri kirjaston johdon kanssa, mikäli kirjastolta löytyisi sopiva tila näille tapaamisille.
Muuten asia on vielä täysin suunnitteluasteella. Halusin vain nyt ilmoittaa, että Document Freedom Day -tapahtumaa ei ole, mutta jotain muuta tulee myöhemmin. Tiedotan lisää kun asiat etenee, kun sekä Antti että Ville olitte kiinnostuneita osallistumaan/järjestämään FSFE:n kanssa yhteistyössä tällaista. Tiedotan myös COSSia ja muita potentiaalisia tahoja aikanaan, mutta nyt asia on siis vasta kypsymässä.

Kuittaan nopeasti vasta perustetun OKF Finlandin puolesta (Petri cc:nä), että olisi kiinnostavaa ja erityisesti siinä mielessä, että avoin data ja avoin lähdekoodi -ihmiset lähestyisivät vähän enemmän toisiaan. Open sourcella on suomessa pitkät perinteet, avoin data on vähän uudempaa, mutta yhdessä nämä avoimien standardien kanssa on aika kova sana.
En tietysti voi muiden puolesta luvata mitään, mutta laitoin ainakin alustavan merkinnän olmaan kalenteriini. OKF Conventionin jälkeen voidaan palata konkreettisemmalla ideoinnilla.

Tässä yhteydessä olisi hyvä tuoda esille teknistä tietoa siitä, millä tiedostomuodoilla esimerkiksi avoin data kannattaa julkaista, halutaanko esimerkiksi että koko julkishallinto julkaisee tulevaisuudessa kaikki datat Microsoftin OData-muodossa..? :)
