Liebe Freundinnen und Freunde der Freien Software,
am Freitag den 17. Februar 2017 findet ein Fellowship-Treffen in Wien
statt. Wir treffen uns ab 18:30 Uhr im Heinz-Zemanek-Saal der
Österreichischen Computer Gesellschaft (1010 Wien, Wollzeile 1, 1.Stock;
bitte bei OCG anläuten!). Die Agenda starten wir um 19:00 Uhr.
Folgende Punkte stehen auf dem Programm:
* Fellowship-Treffen neu [0]
* gemütliches Beisammensein
Teilnehmerzahl!
https://wiki.fsfe.org/Events/Vienna_2017-02-17
* gemütliches Beisammensein
* Wie können sich jene Fellows effizient organisieren, die in

https://www.libelektra.org/home
Wer öffentlich diskutieren will:
https://github.com/ElektraInitiative/libelektra/issues/1154
Danke!
glg, Markus

Teilnehmer gesucht: Web Tracking Studie
******************************************
Studenten, Kollegen, Mailing-Listen, Foren, usw.
teilen.

Studiendetails für Forscher und Interessierte
*********************************************
Auf der Studienwebseite sind erste Zwischenergebnisse veröffentlicht:
https://browser-fingerprint.cs.fau.de/statistics
was sehr zeitaufwändig ist.
In verwandten Studien
wurden wiederkehrende Benutzer anhand von Cookies wiedererkannt. Dies
Vielen Dank!

Call for Participation: Web Tracking Study
******************************************
The digital fingerprint of a browser can be used to recognize users on
websites without their knowledge or consent. This technique is called
browser fingerprinting.
If you sign up for participation (no account/password required, no
technical knowledge needed), you can test over a longer period of time
if you leave unique traces when surfing the Web:
https://browser-fingerprint.cs.fau.de
Time required is less than 1 minute per week. Moreover, every 4 weeks
participants receive a report as PDF file about the duration of their
recognition and comparative values to other participants. You can
unsubscribe at any time.
We would also highly appreciate if you distribute this call to your
private and professional contacts: friends, relatives, students,
colleagues, mailing lists, web forums and so on. If you sign up for
participation, you can also use our privacy-preserving social media
buttons (Facebook, Twitter) with predefined announcement text.

Study details for researchers and other interested people
*********************************************************
Here are the preliminary study statistics:
https://browser-fingerprint.cs.fau.de/statistics
We are going to release an open data set of fingerprints. Till now,
everybody doing research on countermeasures to browser fingerprinting
has to collect their own data sets, and this is extremely time-consuming.
Our data set will be especially useful for research, because through our
study design we have an unprecedented level of ground truth: We can
assign each fingerprint to a particular (of course, anonymized)
participant. In all other projects, recurring participants are
recognized through cookies, which is quite error-prone, as people delete
their cookies.
Moreover, participants voluntarily fill in a small demographic survey
(this data will not be released in the open data set), such that we can
assess the representativeness of our study for the Internet users worldwide.
Thanks!

Hallo Listen,
nachdem uns immer wieder gesagt wurde es wäre doch schön die Sticker "There is
no cloud just other people's computers" [1] zu lokalisieren, würden wir gerne
Was findet ihr denn intuitiv besser? Oder habt ihr vielleicht noch einen
anderen Vorschlag?
Beste Grüße,
Erik

Wir wollen euch das LibreRouter Projekt vorstellen.
Am 11.11. um 18:00 im Metalab
LibreRouter- Open Source Hardware for community based networks (wifi)
We are Gui and Isa from AlterMundi(Argentina) working with mesh networks
in Latin America. A few months ago we started a Open Hardware Project
together with partners in South Africa, Germany, Australia, Canada und
Hong Kong in order to produce a Router that is designed for the needs of
communities in Latin America. Since many partners joined the team the
project is expanding and a team in south africa is focussing on
implementing andoptimising the solar panel usage for more autonomy and
because of the lack of electricity in the region.
Since the battlemesh recon visit will take place, Marek will be in
Vienna as well and we want to take the chance to present the librerouter
project to people that are interested.

We are looking forward meeting you!!

Was denkt Ihr?
Hallo Leute,
http://audio-video.gnu.org/video/#2014-04-07--rms--tedx
Franz
