Hallo,
Dieses Jahr findet am 24./25. November 2012 das dritte Mal das
Linuxwochenende im Wiener Metalab statt. Dabei handelt es sich um ein
Vortragswochenende rund um Linux und Freie Software.

Die thematischen Schwerpunkte des Linuxwochenendes liegen in den
Bereichen Systemadministration (zum Beispiel: Datenbanken, Serverfarmen,
automatisierte Installationen, Backup, Verzeichnisdienste, praktische
Software, ..), Entwicklung (zum Beispiel: Programmiersprachen,
Libraries, Sourcecodemanagement, Tools, ...) und coole Hacks (zum
Beispiel: Linux auf der Microwelle, ...).
Ungeachtet des Namens richtet sich das Linuxwochenende an Benutzerinnen
und Benutzer von Freier Software im allgemeinen und nicht
ausschliesslich an Linux-Begeisterte.
Zielgruppe sind Geeks, EnthusiastInnen, AdministratorInnen,
EntwicklerInnen und natuerlich auch solche die es werden wollen. Wir
suchen Vortragende, die mit ihrem Vortrag gerne diese Zielgruppe
erreichen wollen.

ich bin momentan auf der Suche nach guten Beispielanwendungen für
OpenGovData speziell Öffis. Was ich bis jetzt gefunden habe sind Sachen
aus Linz (die linz fährt map) und die swisstrainsmap. Das gleiche hab
ich auch schon mal für Helsinki gesehen. Kennt jemand weitere Beispiele,
am besten etwas wo Echtzeitdaten verwendet werden und in 'wienähnlichen'
Städten?

Hallo Leute,
hier kommt ein neues Update zum SFD-Event am Samstag in Wien:
Gerade sind die 200 nagelneuen Promo-CDs von openSuse 12.2 angekommen.
Damit haben wir dann deutlich über 300 CDs zum Verteilen. Wir haben dazu
zwei XL-Suse-Shirts, einige Poster, Folder und kleine PC-Aufkleber
bekommen. (Die Shirts sind so groß, dass wir wohl nicht viele Leute
haben, denen sie passen werden.)
Aber toll, dass wir diese Ausstattung bekommen haben. Wir sollten dafür
zumindest auch Fotos von dem Event machen und ich werde dann zusätzlich
einen Bericht dazu schreiben. :)
Hat irgendwer von Euch zwei Flächen, die wir mit etwas Basteln - an der
oberen Kante verbunden - als Poster-Aufsteller verwenden können?
In Fachkreisen nennt sich sowas anscheinend "Kundenstopper".
Eines der Poster ist nämlich im Din A1-Format. So ein großes Ding ist
schwer ohne geeigneten Untergrund einsetzbar...
Ich werde noch versuchen einige SFD-Shirts mit Stefan zu machen, der ja
angeboten hat nachhaltige Shirts zum Selbstkostenpreis umzusetzen. (Das
hat er auch explizit auf Shirts bezogen, die wir später mal allgemein
als FSFE-Fellowship haben wollen.)
Wollen wir eher T-Shirts oder Sweather? Ich habe ja immer den Eindruck,
dass Sweather mit brauchbaren Botschaften eher Mangelware sind.
Mir wäre es wichtig eine Botschaft darauf zu haben, die auch Leute
verstehen, die keine Nerds sind.

Hallo Leute,
ich wollte nur in Erinnerung rufen, dass kommenden Samstag der Software
Freedom Day ist und es nett wäre an unterschiedlichen Orten kleine
Events dafür zu machen.
Das muß nichts Großartiges sein. Im Freundeskreis irgendetwas mit dem
Thema Freie Software zu tun - zum Beispiel sie zu beraten - wäre sicher
auch schon etwas, das als solch ein Event klassifiziert.
Wir wollen doch alle Freie Software fördern und das ist ein idealer
Termin dafür... :)
In Wien werden wir Ecke Mariahilfer Straße/Museumsquartier vopn 10-19
Uhr einen Infostand machen. Wer zufällig in Wien ist und vorbeikommen
mag, ist sehr willkommen.

== mur.sat - A Space Art Project ==
Vortragender: Christian Pointner

Seit 2009 arbeitet eine kleine Gruppe von Künstlern und Technikern aus Graz an
einem Nanosatelliten. mur.sat1, so der Name des ersten österreichischen Hacker-
Satelliten, wird in seiner Zeit im Orbit unter anderem Selbstportraits von sich
im Weltall schießen, Kinderwünsche aussenden, vorbeifliegende Aliens zählen und
O-Ton Aufnahmen machen. Ausserdem wird es per Poor-Man's-Space-Travel die
Möglichkeit geben ein Haar ins Weltall zu schicken und vom Boden aus eine LED
am Satelliten einzuschalten.
Das Projekt wurde von mur.at - Verein zur Förderung von Netzwerkkunst initiiert
und wird gemeinsam mit ESC im Labor und realraum umgesetzt.
Der Vortrag wird eine kurze Einführung in das Projekt geben und Einblicke in
die technische Entwicklung bieten.
| Zur Person: Christian Pointner studiert Telematik in Graz und arbeitet bei
| Radio Helsinki als Techniker. In seiner Freizeit beschäftigt er sich mit
| Elektronik, Netzwerktechnik und Freier Software. Christian Pointner ist
| Mitbegründer des realraum, dem ersten Hackerspace in Graz, und Gründungs-
| mitglied und derzeit Obmann des Vereins Funkfeuer Graz. Ausserdem ist er
| Mitglied des Präsidiums von mur.at (Trägerin des Projektes mur.sat) und
| Technischer Leiter des Projektes mur.sat.

Lightning Talks sind Kurzvorträge. Hier sollen aktuelle Ideen, Projekte,
und vor allem Work-in-Progress vorgestellt werden. (Selbst auf der Wiki-
Seite eintragen!) Die Dauer der Vorträge ist auf 5 Minuten begrenzt.
