Hi,
Since there's no translation available of the ACTA, I thought it might help if we could refer people to some extracts of the treaty in their own language.
So I've started with French. http://etherpad.fsfe.org/D5P4XEvfIa
I hope it will help spread the word about the treaty in other areas too.
Translating legal documents is difficult. So any time you come across a legal concept you're not sure about, please highlight it with a [FIXME]. It will help us get more specific and precise about the translation (and I hope it will also help us understand the text better, so that we back up our arguments with solid legal analysis.)
Thank you for your help!
Best, Hugo
Hello,
On 15 November 2010, the government of Canada had released both a French and an English version of the final (but still subject to legal review) version of the ACTA. Maybe this could help you?
An HTML version of the French text is available here: http://www.international.gc.ca/trade-agreements-accords-commerciaux/fo/ACTA_... A PDF (32 pages) can be found there: http://www.international.gc.ca/trade-agreements-accords-commerciaux/assets/p...
And here is what seems to be the official French-speaking main page about the ACTA on the website of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada: http://www.international.gc.ca/trade-agreements-accords-commerciaux/fo/intel...
