Hey all,
Daniel wrote on February 1st 2018:
Understanding where the organization will go beyond the extinction of the fellowship representative is critical. The Identity review process, championed by Jonas Oberg and Kristi Progri, is actively looking at these questions. Please contact Kristi[5] if you wish to participate and look out for updates about this process in emails and Planet[6] FSFE. Kristi will be at FOSDEM[7] this weekend if you want to speak to her personally.
You should all have this email, but I'm attaching it again just in case.
The email refers to a blogpost dating September 20th 2017 (almost one year already):
https://fsfe.org/news/2017/news-20170911-01.html
In which it says:
As we work on this for the next few months, there will be several opportunities for all parts of our community to be heard: we will ask individuals to participate in interviews, sometimes directly, sometimes by asking for people who are interested in participating. We’ll conduct surveys circulated through our community and newsletter, and we will share our findings regularly, on our web pages, and on our team wiki.
This is the wiki page:
https://wiki.fsfe.org/Teams/FSFE-in-2020
As far as I can tell, the last edits were sometime in late 2017.
I participated in the survey and I had a very nice phone interview with Kristi, I still hope we will eventually see some results. You can see the kinds of questions I was asked on the wiki page. Maybe it's still possible to participate, I don't have any information on that.
Personally, I would like to see a better form of governance for the FSFE, I know that it's extremely difficult. I view the "FSFE in 2020" initiative as a form of democratic outreach to the FSFE community as a whole, which IMHO should be embraced and built upon.
Cheers,
Jonke
