I just wanted to call attention to this message in patents.aful.org saying that the Industry, Research, Trade and Energy committee of the European Parliament is voting tomorrow (20/2/2003) and it is the committee most likely to listen to researchers, free lancers and businesses (if they send a brief fax today).

I think you should contact the chairman in first place, and then the vice-chairmans/members if you want. Specially those belonging to Christian Democrats, who are the less anti-patent ones (that's my point of view).
Anyway, I've sent a fax to the chairman (I'm just a student) only.

Chema.
