I am looking for a e-reader. If possible with may be with some reinstallable OS - I have plenty of PDF and epub from my studies to read. (Do not need amazon store or whatever DRM). (In germany, available)

What for? Anyway, PocketBook and Kobo devices usually run a Linux custom kernel and BusyBox. Tolino runs Android (at least on newer devices?). The Kobo hacking community might be largest.

Sorry I wanted to write readers that just can read PDF. and not transmit number of pages/document names to amazon/google servers.
