Hi there,
as you have seen we got a quote from Stephen Fry for Document Freedom Day. That's really cool! But we should we stop with that? Why shouldn't we be able to get more cool quotes. So who of you will be able to get another cool quote from a celebraty?
Whoever is able to get Arnold Schwarzenegger saying "Your file 'll be back. So better make sure to use Open Standards!"? will be my personel hero for the next year!!
So, if you have any ideas, please contact them, explain them briefly what Open Standards are and ask them for a quote. Believe me, it can be fun finding a hook to explain Open Standards to different people.
Regards, Matthias
Given the idea of six degrees of separation this theoretically shouldn't be that hard if we properly utilize our friends (I suggest a combination of chocolate and frightening tales of documents longing for freedom).

I'm not fond of having any of the so-called celebrities comment on things they actually know little or nothing about. If Conan had any worthful thing to say about Open Standards or free software, he would have done so already.
Asking people with no or little relevance to the subject they are wanted to issue something onto is of no relevance to me. Just because Microsoft f. e. makes dumb people advertise their products doesn't make those products better, only more dumb. So it'd go for our "products", as I believe.
So, the FSFE should refrain from seeking popular persons to comment on our terms as long as they do not have more to give to the matter despite their popularity.
Just my 0.02,

As you know, knowledge can be vital for breaking out of poverty, but poverty can restrict access to knowledge when it needs expensive software on high-powered computers to read it, so will you be supporting Document Freedom Day on 28th March 2012, to help users of free software and low-powered computers get better access to information?
into http://www.globalpovertyproject.com/form_users/add/52 which starts "Ask Bill Gates and Hans Rosling a question
Add your details and question below.
We will ask Bill Gates and Hans Rosling the best questions live at the event"
OK, I'm being a bit silly, but the whole event seems a bit silly to me (because Bill Gates does not have recent experience of poverty and his hoarding method for avoiding poverty will not work for the masses and... and...) and you never know... ;-)

I don't think Schwarzenegger would be very believable, unless he really uses Free Software, which I doubt.
Maybe it would also be a good idea to collect material, books, films, music, etc., where Free Software already plays a positive role.
I was fascinated by the book "Little Brother" by Cory Doctorow, where the GNU/Linux system plays a major part (although it's just called "Linux").

P.S.: Okay, I admit it, I just listened to the audio book. ;-)
