FAQ for giving talks about Free Software

At the moment you'll find the English version of the FAQ there. We also have the FAQ in the following languages: - - German - - French - - Spanish - - Italian - - Bulgarian Someone offered to do a Turkish translation and I'm waiting on that. I've also been cheeky and asked a Japanese friend to do a Japanese translation. Ditto Chinese Mandarin and Chinese Cantonese. The translations of the FAQ are waiting on an update to the followship CMS board system to allow all the characters to display properly. Now, regarding the advocacy section of the site: I want to add a lot more material there to help people spread the word about Free Software. Suggestions and material welcome! What about classifying businesses according to the Debian guidelines (main, contrib and non-free)? Businesses that deal with 100% free software (from development to production) will fit in the main section, the others in either contrib or non free. By the way, I remember somebody here telling me some time ago that the GBN was thrown a spanner from the outside. I can only see spanners from inside. What free software licensing books have been published?

The Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_software_license has four: 1. The Rise of Open Source Licensing, by Mikko Valimaki 2. Die GPL kommentiert und erklart, by ifrOSS (a German organisation) 3. Understanding Open Source and Free Software Licensing, by Andrew M. St. Laurent 4. Open Source Licensing: Software Freedom and Intellectual Property Law, by Larry Rosen I don't know if any of them are any good. I've heard the 2nd one is good, but I can't read German. I have a suspicion that the 4th is quite bad. Does anyone know of other books? I'm not necessarily looking for good ones, or even ones that support a software freedom point of view. Hi, I was mildly surprised not to see the URL below hit this list. http://www.fsfe.org/fellows/greve/freedom_bits/novells_danaergeschenk However this could be because this list is for discussion. Well to overcome that issue, perhaps we need to discuss how to get this information in front of every possible purchaser of the named software packages perhaps is as I view it important. Maybe a slogan could be one like this: Find out if OpenXML(r) is actually useful to your business. Answer these Questions: ... Or perhaps this: Now that you must change, why not abandon those who tell you how to run your business, gain freedom to think and don't be dictated to. Or even this: Innovate, adapt, exceed your own expectations. Or this: Who said you can't? Arm people with the information about who is cutting down on if not orphaning their existing information transfer ability. Enlightenment may follow. Regards, Paul

Page layout vs. descriptive markup

Hi, do you agree with me that there are many occasions when a page layout format is used for a document which would better be written with descriptive markup?
