I can create the graphics, if you'd like me to.

Which pages; don't they already exist?
Thanks,
Sam.

hi there,
for Document Freedom Day I need some help with designs. At the moment
the website looks like that: http://www.documentfreedom.org.
What I need:
- Graphics for the Web (e.g. one to advertise the day 28.02.2012)
- Graphics or complete designs to be uses for promotion materials,
t-shirts, buttons, etc.
We should not use a complete other logo, but perhaps you can generate
a "cleaner" version of the current one:
- One with DFD + the doves
- Clean one, just one dove
- ... your suggestions
(From my side it does not have to be green, it is also fine to make it
blue again, like in the first years.)
Graphics from the past years are available on
http://documentfreedom.org/2011/artwork.en.html and on
http://wiki.documentfreedom.org/Artwork2011.
For the t-shirts it would be cool to have a:
- "Free your bits" (Sam made a graphic for that
https://fsfe.org/graphics/free-your-bits.png)
- "Lord of the files"
- ...
Is someone here able to help with this?
Thanks,
Matthias

Hello designers,
(I have some tasks, which I will send to the list now.)
on 14th February 2012 we will again run our "I love Free Software"
campaign. For this I need your help.
Markus Meier, who also created the nice web buttons for the last years
(see https://fsfe.org/campaigns/valentine/2011/valentine-2011) created
more graphics to be used for promotion materials. You will find the
graphics under http://download.fsfe.org/advocacy/ilovefs/graphics/
Is anyone here familiar with print online on demand services (like
spreadshirt and others) for t-shirts, blankets, cups, baby stuff,
boxershorts (+ 404 Not Found), thong (+ 403 Forbidden, 402 Payment
Required, 418 – I'm a teapot), condoms (+ 502 Bad Gateway, 417
Expectation Failed), bookmarks, rubber bracelets, laptop cases, badges,
balloons, and other things which would fit into the "I love FS" theme?
Could you help generating promotion materials with Markus' graphics,
which people can order online, best over the world without a lot of
shipment costs? If we set up those things we should make the prices in a
way that ~1-2 EUR out of every product goes to FSFE.
Who can help with that?

The German team will organise an event in the Unperfekthaus in Essen. We
are cooperating with the Linuxhotel and Jamendo (a free music
platform). The host of the event is the Unperfekthaus in Essen. For

*Program* During the afternoon Linuxhotel will organise workshops about
Free Software, and Jamendo will organise a jam session. In the evening
we will have a concert celebrating the day. Jamendo announced a music
contest, and the winning bands will give the concert. We are still open
for other activities. Reinhard Wiesemann is very much supporting us to
make this visible and to get people in the Unperfekthaus active.
Thanks,
Matthias

On https://fsfe.org/order/2008/tshirt-mdf-green-back-large.jpg we added
a ".org" to our logo. Does someone still have this logo? Markus Meier
would like to have it for our I love Free Software campaign.
Regards,
Matthias

hello desigeres,
for start: please cc me in replies, since i'm not subscribed on the
designers(a)fsfeurope.org list
the idea of having a service for fellows, that produces print-ready
business cards in a fellowship design as a pdf.
after wanting to do someething in that direction for some time,
i now found some time to produce a working prototype of the generation
code and reinhard mueller already has an idea on how to integrate with the
fellowship database if i interpret my mail correspondece with him correctly.
asside from some minor code cleanup issues, there are some issues
i still need help, and with some of them, people on this list might be able
to help me:
*) my code uses svg templates, and my current templates are, let's say,
suboptimal since i'm more of a coder than a designer (see attachment).
the requierements are pretty basic since my code is relativly flexible:
* the template should be for a single card
* the text parts that should be replaced are referenced via the 'id'
attribute, so speaking names there would make the config file more readable
* my current implementation does no like multi-lined text elements, therefor
for multi line fields like address, there have to be seperate text elements
for each line
* my current plan woud be to include the data represented on the card
in machine readable form (qr code) on the backside, so if suitable from the
design point of view, would it be possible to include a square with a
edge length of 2.5 to 3 centimeters there?
(it may mark me as a techno freak, but i have seen people, escpecially
secreteries waste a lot of time copieng the data by hand and smartphones
and webcams with correspondig software are quite common nowadays, so
it struck me as usefull)
*) for the placement on the pages i also use svg templates with rect elements
as placeholders (currently i have them with 1 card centered for sending
to printing shops, an n-uped to a4 and a3 for home/office printers.
however i have a small problem: when n-upping 8 cards onto a a4 page,
the standard inksacpe feature produces marks that are to big (overlap
into the neighboring card), does anybody now of a way to produce
good crop/bleed marks in the needed size without drawing them by hand?
*) to produce pdf's usable for pre-press, i currently pdf's with version
1.3 and cmyk colors in the final step that should, theoretically
be in conformance with the pdf/x3 standard, does anybody by coinsitance
now a free (as in freedom) tool to verify if that is really true?
thx
yours,
albert
ps: i hope my design aux pas is not to offending for somebody tho actually
has knowledge reagrding design
